Balanced Climate

Our Path towards Net Zero

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges that humanity faces.

Addressing climate change demands bold and effective mitigation measures and actions. That’s why we’ve released our Net Zero Roadmap, in 2023, detailing the actions we’re implementing to cut our GHG emissions throughout our entire value chain.

We are striving to cut our GHG emissions (scope 1 and 2) by half and across our value chain by 25% (scope 3).

Our Near-Term Reduction Targets

validated by SBTi

In our first step towards the ultimate goal of reaching Net Zero by 2050, we have set near-term GHG emissions reduction targets. These targets are in line with the latest climate science to ensure that our goals are consistent with the levels of decarbonization required to keep global temperature rise below 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, as outlined in the Paris Agreement. In 2024, these targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Scope 1 and 2

50%

GHG emissions absolute reduction by 2030

against baseline year 2021/2022

Scope 3

25%

GHG emissions absolute reduction by 2030

against baseline year 2021/2022

We are now putting into action strategies to cut GHG emissions from our manufacturing facilities by 50% by 2030. Our primary focus is on reducing energy consumption and increasing the proportion of renewable energy used in our industrial plants.

Since the majority of our GHG emissions are from scope 3 sources, we are targeting reductions in emissions from purchased goods, including raw materials and packaging, as well as transportation to and from our facility. Our objective is to cut these emissions by 25% by 2030. To reach this goal, we are actively collaborating with business partners and suppliers to accelerate our progress.
